Not only did it happen to me once, or twice, but three times.
Have you ever gone to plug your phone or device in, left it to charge, then check on it later only to see your device was at the same percentage or dead?! After the first time or second time, you realize that you had it plug it in, yes (good) but the cord was not plugged into the wall (bad).Ā Confession: I did this three times! I did this once with our handheld vacuum and twice with my phone!
Humorous.
I am reminded that, too often, I get plugged into the wrong source which is no source at all.
Here are some of my thoughts:
“Just a little more screen time…”
“I wanna see what’s going on in so and so’s life via Instagram or Facebook…”
“Just a few more minutes…”
“Just a handful more…”
or “How about this news, etc”
All along, I hear the Holy Spirit speaking to my heart saying, spend time with me. I will give you counsel, truth, and advocate for you.
Oh the tug of war.. the war of the mind and heart… Some more chocolate though, maybe just a few more of x, y, z. Tell me you know what I’m talking about!
Knowing that we often FEEL alone in our struggles, we are not. The truth is someone else is going through what we are going through. Friends, might I suggest today we go to the Father. Let’s plug in and plug into The Source.

Prayer: Dear God, I confess to you I enjoy doing things that are instant and tangible; quite honestly, they’re a waste of time. I want my heart and mind and soul filled and full. Forgive me, Lord. Thank you that you are a good and loving God. God, draw me closer to you. Help me, Holy Spirit to go to you and your word. I want to know you and be known by you. Amen.
