I don’t like to let trials and hardships go to waste. I’ve read the Bible and God’s word says: consider it joy when you go through various trials! James 1:2-4 “Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.”

If you have lived for any time on this earth: you will experience pain and you will be weak.
However, you don’t have to be powerless.
God’s word says that his grace is sufficient for us, and his power is made perfect in weakness (see 2 Corinthians 12:9)
My heart this COVID season is to develop my morals and character… I can feel weak but I can activate God’s grace and power. What a kind and generous God! Here are a few things I’ve learned about myself and I am praying to come out of it: stronger and with more joy!
Here’s what I learned about Shelter in Place me:
I have moments more often than I’d like to admit where I’d like to run away when things get hard (like run and hide or get in the car and leave.)
I want to give up (all the time…yikes)
I have to seek God often for power and strength and joy.
I am not as “present” as I think when I am at home. My husband got this shirt from a family member that says “Physically I’m here but mentally I’m a galaxy far far away…” *joke shirt* I think it is a mood shirt for me!
I fail a lot, but I am not a failure!

Character can develop when trials are considered as joy! COVID 19 Season can be a season for character and joy! What?!
Remember, that God’s grace is sufficient for us! Even during times where the whole world “shut down” and we had to all abide by laws that restricted much “freedoms.” Don’t finish up this season being mean, cold-hearted, critical, and controversial but move towards compassion and being more Christ-like. Let’s reflect more of the Father’s heart. He delights in you.
Let’s pray: Dear God, I ask for the next step to walk well with you. God, during this season as I go into businesses and a “new normal” help me to walk in a way that shows Christ above all else. I say to you that I trust you. Amen.
