Self-Compassion As a Parent

This is a google search title that I have been using…

I have decided that for me… I am going to apply a few journal prompts I found at this link: https://betterhumans.pub/a-step-by-step-guide-to-help-parents-develop-self-compassion-e3e1c00d1a9c?gi=be3a9d249c8e

I remember listening to Kristen Neff and hearing that she had a special needs child and in order for her to take care of her child, she used self-compassion. It made total sense! If I have hard circumstances I am facing, I cannot change them but I can change how I address the feelings they evoke…I choose to be self-aware and to care for myself so I can care for others.

So, the result of my search and the steps I plan to take:

**journal and process alone

**move into self-awareness: I have noticed my tummy has not been feeling well lately… could it be the habanero salsa I made? *smiley emoji*

**connect with friends and trusted people in my circle

**reframe my think and move on with gratitude

How about you?! Where are you in your self-compassion and self-awareness journey? Where has it taken you and where do you want to go?

Life can be full of hope and abundance; I am certain we can find it because the life we want and desire: Jesus came to give us life and we can have it abundantly! A little about me: I am a wife, first. Next, I am a mama to five children; my husband and I have four daughters and son! I love to connect and talk about things of God and look for beauty in life.
