Day Seven–SUNDAY
In the Book of the Bible, Matthew chapter 28 verse 20, Jesus talks to his disciples giving them a mandate:
“Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
My ultimate dream scene would be me walking through a bugless and beautiful spring meadow with flowers up to my hips… the sun would be shining ever so gently and the breeze sweet and cool (not too cold though)… my heart aflutter as I watch, **ok I said no bugs**…maybe butterflies flying about, and my arms out stretched gently touching the blooms.
Although this dream scene has never happened it is a feeling I try to capture throughout my day to day…
Unfortunately, I cannot transport myself to such a scene but I do know that the One who created such beauty is with me.
A.W. Tozer said something like {“The one who has God, has everything.” }
“The man who has God for his treasure has all things in One. Many ordinary treasures may be denied him, or if he is allowed to have them, the enjoyment of them will be so tempered that they will never be necessary to his happiness. Or if he must see them go, one after one, he will scarcely feel a sense of loss, for having the Source of all things he has in One all satisfaction, all pleasure, all delight. Whatever he may lose he has actually lost nothing, for he now has it all in One, and he has it purely, legitimately and forever.”–A.W. Tozer
It is a feeling and a moment I try to cultivate. Chances are, I won’t get this dream scene but I do know the one who put this dream scene in me has been with me…
More times than I can count or record, I find that God’s presence with me raises a sense of wonder and joy and contentment.
Question: what would be your ultimate happy place?
Chances are, you won’t get to be in your happy place with the snap of your fingers. How can you create and cultivate place “God with us…”
Prayer: God, I praise you that you give us the Holy Spirit. He is our counselor and teacher of truth. I praise you that you are with me wherever I go. May I live out today in your peace and joy for you are with me where I go. Show me your way…
