Worry Not About What You Will Wear

In Matthew chapter six, you will find these words in the New International Version:

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I pulled down the mailbox lid with excitement and my heart raced within me as I pulled the mail out. “Yay, mail!” One side of me elated to receive meaningful mail and on the flip side afraid to open up and see the damage. We received the hospital bill and after updating insurance, a couple of days later the balance read “0.”

My heart rejoiced and again, I thanked God.

A check had also come in the mail to cover expenses for repairs needed on the home. Praise the Lord. I remember listening to a Bible teacher say, “When God does something for you, tell somebody!” Tell Somebody I did!

In a span of a couple of weeks, he has allowed me to care for my children and aging parents, rescued a child from a near death experience, take care of expenses for different bills.

Worries, hurries, and much face my day to day but I am reminded that God is my provider. He is our source and our strength.

Prayer: God, I praise you for you are the Creator of Heaven and Earth. You are able to do all things. You provide for all my needs. Lord, may I keep my heart tethered to you and your kingdom. Amen.

Life can be full of hope and abundance; I am certain we can find it because the life we want and desire: Jesus came to give us life and we can have it abundantly! A little about me: I am a wife, first. Next, I am a mama to five children; my husband and I have four daughters and son! I love to connect and talk about things of God and look for beauty in life.
