Today’s moods were all over with my children. Five little precious humans to teach, train, connect and so on, I’m spent!
However, my parenting journey is just beginning. You see, my oldest is only nine years and my youngest turned a year on the 8th of November. I am far from done though my energy meter would read “empty.”
I’ve come to terms that parenting is altogether beautiful and ugly. I cannot have the ups without the downs. I cannot have the dance parties without the whining.
We had some tantrums and whining as of late and lots of fighting (to be expected with children in small home whilst living in times of pandemic).
Today, a wise friend in prayer encouraged me… she told me one of the step daughters in her teen years craved the attention. She urged me to take a little time to go on a date.
Oh, it’s been a while since I have had a one-on-one date with my kiddos. Sweet 2nd child lit up as I let her sit in the front seat and we went for a sweet treat.

Here are my recounting of what I love about being a mama:
*Children’s capacity to love and forgive one another
*Differences in personality and gifts and interests
*Laughter and smiles
*Dancing and dance parties
*The rate in which they grow and learning (like sponges they soak in their world)
*Tenderness of heart.. my kids teach me so much
