Psalm 127:3 (NLT)
“Children are a gift from the Lord;
they are a reward from him.“
If you have been around children for any amount of time, especially young children: they’re fun and funny. Like all people, we have our moments where we are “done” and in need of a reset and rest. However, today I sit here writing and listening to some elementary aged children laughing and screaming while jumping on the trampoline. I am also near my toddler and my 5 year old and her 6 year old friend. Colorful chalk dust all over their hands and their clothing, cooperative play and creativity all around me. Perhaps it’s because my inner child is awakened! I want to play and I want to laugh and be!
Children have such a simpleness and joy to them.
They welcome you to be who you are to play and enjoy life as it is and in the moment.
As I walk around and take in the children playing together, my head feels warm. Could it be those feel good hormones? Perhaps they are helping to release it all: seretonin, oxytocin, and endorphines.
Today, I am grateful for children. I am grateful for the wonder they display. Daily as a mom, I have an invitation to be and to sit in the moment. For all the parents out there: enjoy your time. They say the days are long but the years are short. Blessings!
