Day 3 of Prayer Series

Prayer is our best opportunity and mode of communication. Whether we go into the closet, the bathroom, outside to the backyard, standing in front the mountain (or mountain of laundry or dishes), we can pray and talk to God, to petition, to praise, to lament and hear from him. Although God doesn’t speak to us these days in the audible like he did directly to Job of the Bible or Moses of the Bible, he will speak to us by the counsel of his Holy Spirit or through his written word as well as wisdom of friends who exercise such communion with God.

Although simple or short, conversational prayers can happen throughout your day, I’d like to focus on a scripted prayer and a hymn. You’ll find I draw from scripture and song to provide a prayer that we may commune with God.

Heavenly Father, I praise you for you are Almighty and Our Creator. I trust you today and because I trust you, I put my life, dreams, plans and hopes in you. All the plans for me and my family, I surrender them to you. I have not any ounce of control. Let me remember that in you I can hope and trust. I surrender finances, work, home, parenting and marriage. I thank you for salvation that comes in the name of Jesus Christ! Thank you for loving me so much that you gave me Jesus. Because I trust in Jesus, I have new life and forgiveness of sins and a home in heaven one day. All I am and all I have is yours. Thoughts of today and worries and hopes of tomorrow. I surrender all to you. You are trustworthy. Amen
