My update from Dr’s appointment last week: went well–not scary. I had a lump that turned out to be something resolvable. Thank God. I am grateful. In current news: our lawn mower is not working. As I lay in bed, an image came to me of a car engine in need of repairs. The thought of replacing necessary parts with toy car parts or another model came to mind. If you have a broken part in your car such as a Starter, you couldn’t put an imaginary one there or substitute with image of a Starter in hopes of that working–this isn’t the cartoon or movies!

Such is true about deepest needs and salvation. We have one means by which we must be saved and according God’s word, the Bible in the book of Acts 4:12 “There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”
I found myself trying to fix myself in my younger years and honestly thinking I had a part to play in the act of salvation, but God…
God is good that before I could have seen more of who he is… he chose me first.
God is good that before I knew where I’d be now, he blessed me!
God is good even when the trials, circumstances, and disappointments arise.
So, to go back to wanting what I want and wanting what I need: I see him. I go for standard, actual fit to replace and renew me rather than imaginary or pretend things.
What are you in need of? *If you are not yet born-again, saved by Jesus Christ of the Bible…the one who gives salvation I’d be honored to pray with you.
Believer, if you need grace for today: go to God. He will be your strength.
If you need joy: the Lord is your strength. (Nehemiah)
If you need peace: take heart, Jesus has overcome the world, he is Peace. (John)
If you need him to lift your head, encourage you: Jesus can do the heavy lifting. (Psalm 3)

One name is worthy of complete trust: Jesus.
Let’s pray: Dear God, today I thank you that I have breath in my lungs. I thank you for the gift of salvation and the work of the Cross of Christ. God, sometimes I go about life thinking I can do it and I can do it all. Forgive me for sinning: I think I am self-sufficient. I need you. I thank you for leading me to lean not on my own understanding. I ask for your wisdom for __________. Fill me with your love and grace that I can work, serve, and ____________ in your name. Amen.
