Wiped Out

A little known fact: I surfed in high school! That was a long time ago! I loved it and I was quite obsessed; I went just about everyday that I could & from sunrise to sunset. When I caught a good wave, I didn’t always ride it out to shore or stay balanced: I wiped out! Tumbling when I off in my timing on the drop I was dragged under, spinning out of control! I would tumble and spin for what felt like f o r e v e r … feet rolling over my head… Panic level rising and I couldn’t find the way up! I would be out of breath and beaten up.

COVID-19

Isn’t that how we can feel on any given day which a global pandemic? Wiped out and tossing, turning and tumbling?

Isn’t that how we can feel during shelter-in-place in this global pandemic? Beaten up emotionally and mentally, not sure which way is up?

Maybe like me: your children are demanding snacks or simply asking for the fifth time, and telling on so and so for doing x, y, and z and you feel like you’re going to flip!

And sadly….you haven’t had once-was-hot-coffee which is now room temperature.

Oh how life can be hard that is in just one given day.

It doesn’t need to overtake you, friend. We can find safety and security in The One.

If you are not a believer in Jesus, I’d like to introduce you. Jesus is our greatest gift. Our greatest source as believers in the One True God is that we have hope and though we take those beatings and get wiped out, there are some awesome waves we can catch and ride it out. Take heart.

In the Bible, in the book of John 14:27, we find the words of Jesus:

“I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. ‘(NLT)

Friend, I know I’ve taken a few beatings recently but thankfully I have been told to not to be troubled or afraid. God is with me and is for me. I have his peace of mind and heart.

Let’s pray:

Dear Jesus, you are a good God and I thank you for the peace of mind and heart. You are a loving God to give us your presence through the Holy Spirit. Today, I ask that you’d make known your presence and peace of mind and heart. Amen

Life can be full of hope and abundance; I am certain we can find it because the life we want and desire: Jesus came to give us life and we can have it abundantly! A little about me: I am a wife, first. Next, I am a mama to five children; my husband and I have four daughters and son! I love to connect and talk about things of God and look for beauty in life.
