Looking Up

I snuck outside while baby boy was jumping around in his jumping gym. The older kids were playing and watching a movie after school-work was done. The gentle breeze brushed my cheeks and the leaves rustled. I directed my gaze upward. I looked up and remembered… “I lift my eyes up. Where does my help come from. ” I think of the passage in Psalm 121.

Often times we can wander horizontally, can’t we. We tend to look to see how others are doing. Simply passing the time, scrolling thru social media or pondering about so and so’s newest and latest and greatest. I do it, too. I am letting myself look upward, vertical. I want to shift my gaze and remember that when I look at my Savior, I am reminded of deep love. Great love, Jesus was sent for me.

Feeling inadequate?

Feel less than?

A little stressed?

Let’s turn our gaze upward and begin a gratitude list today.

Today, I am thankful for food, shelter, water, tea, coffee, and snacks. I am grateful for cute kids and fellowship with our family of seven cozy under this roof.

Let’s pray:

Father, we are grateful for your love. Thank you that I am made in your image and you care deeply for me. Help me remember the flowers of the field, clothed so well. The flowers don’t labor or toil yet they are cared for. Oh, how you care much more for me. Amen.

Life can be full of hope and abundance; I am certain we can find it because the life we want and desire: Jesus came to give us life and we can have it abundantly! A little about me: I am a wife, first. Next, I am a mama to five children; my husband and I have four daughters and son! I love to connect and talk about things of God and look for beauty in life.
